Nguyen Tuan’s semi-abstract style frequently incorporates Vietnamese women in traditional dress.  The figures have an ethereal and tranquil presence, a result of the artist’s subtle use of tonal variations of black & white throughout his canvases.  The artist creates layers on the canvas, building up blocks of colours through which abstract shapes transform into these delicate figures.

Nguyen Tuan Ngoc is an emerging Vietnamese artist based in Hanoi.  Graduating from the Music & Art College in 2002, he has exhibited in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh.
