Kaisa Karikoski’s work is hauntingly beautiful and enigmatic, using a soft palette to portray a landscape as an evocative memory.  The silence and simplicity achieved in her work echoes the Italian artist Giorgio Morandi, who patiently captured simple forms at different angles and varying lights.

Kaisa accumulates very thin layers of oil paint to create a subtle, sensual graduation of colour and extreme depth which together builds a light that grows from the darkness.

Kaisa trained at the College of Film & Art, Norway and later at Falmouth College of Art.  Her work is exhibited in galleries throughout England and Norway.
